Musician Portrait: Manny Laureano

Principal Trumpet Manny Laureano is in his 43rd season with the Minnesota Orchestra and calls the fellow trumpet players in his section his “pride and joy”.. Manny grew up in East Harlem to Puerto Rican parents, attended Juilliard and toured with Emerson Lake and Palmer before landing his first orchestral job with the Seattle Symphony. This former co-executive director of Minnesota Youth Symphonies now conducts the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. A second-degree black belt and Martial Arts instructor, Manny is a consummate and passionate storyteller and enthusiastically shares knowledge.
